The American Civil War (1861-1865)
Ever since the first time I heard Axl sing the Guns n Roses classic "Civil War", I knew those weren't the words of someone who learned about the war from books, but rather those were the words of a man who had witnessed the horrors for himself through the miracle of time travel. And I also thought they sounded like the words of a guy who would have enjoyed a tube of Gogurt while witnessing those horrors. Years later when this photograph first surfaced, it turns out I was right on both accounts.
Look at your young men fighting
Look at your women crying
Look at your young men dying
The way they've always done before
Look at the hate we're breeding
Look at the fear we're feeding
Look at the lives we're leading
The way we've always done before
My hands are tied
The billions shift from side to side
And the wars go on with brainwashed pride
For the love of god and our human rights
And all these things are swept aside
By bloody hands time can't deny
And are washed away by your genocide
And history hides the lies of our civil war

There Was a Week in November...
I've been a blog slacker for awhile, and I was going through the photos that are starting to fill up my phone, and I decided it's time to throw a few out there. I'll start with my arena rock week in November.
On Tuesday, I saw Katy Perry... I went with my girlfriend Tracey and it was awesome!
Friday of the same week, Sean and I went to "Watch the Throne" on a pretty bad ass hook up... Seeing Kanye and Jay Z was amazing. It's definitely near the top of my list of the greatest arena performances I've ever seen. So much pyro! So many video screens! So many lasers!
As if this wasn't enough, the very next night, we headed to see Sebastian Bach and, yes, GUNS-N-ROSES! Say what you will about it not REALLY being Guns-n-Roses, or what you want about Axl Rose, I cannot hear it or be affected by it! I love that crazy, eccentric maniac. And he's not kidding when he says "When the time is right... the stage will ignite". He didn't come out until well after midnight, and there was so much pyro, the stage did indeed ignite. Haha. A wonderful friend of ours works for GNR and I had the BEST view of Sebastian Bach's set... For GNR's set, we had to move to a safer location in front of the stage, to not get burned by all that pyro! I was so enthralled by Axl I forgot to snap a picture! Boo! Guns-n-Roses was my first concert EVER so there was a lot of nostalgia for me, and Axl Rose really does still sound AMAZING. He hit every note. The band is a little over the top ridiculous, but I suppose that's what they're getting paid for, and they sound great, so what if they look stupid? Haha. Thanks to Armond Butts Crump III for making all of my Guns-N-Roses dreams come true.
