So Long, Marianne

Here are some pictures of Marianne worse for wear and tear, when her relationship with Mick had crumbled and she began the dark days of the 1970s through her triumph at the end of the decade with Broken English.  Pictured here with Lord Paddy, Oliver Musker and Ben Brierly (and Bowie at his "1980 Floor Show", which was actually in 1973.

Before The Poison

Hello everyone - another Marianne post! These are all from 1964-1966, "before the poison" so to speak.  Some of these are quite rare, taken mostly from magazines and photos I've purchased.  If you want a bigger version, email me and I'll send some to you.  Hope you enjoy.

My List of Top 5 Female Metal Vocalists: The Best of the Bests

To tell truth: I know very few female vocalists in metal genre. But still I wanted to compile a list of my favorites.

1. Sarah Jezbel Deva (Angtoria and Cradle of Filth) - 3
2. Tarja Turnen (Former Nightwish) -
3. Angela Gossow (Arch Enemy) - the last one
4. Annette Olzon (Present Nightwish) - 4
5. Morgan Lander (Kitty) - 5

The numbers by the side of the names are just to show the voclaists in the given video (second one):

Marianne Faithfull - first year of fame

Just scanned these from a UK magazine that had a small article about Marianne's first year of fame (1964, when she was but a blushing 17).  All photos were taken by John Pratt, in Reading where she lived with mum Eva.  The other girls in the photo of her looking at the book were friends from St. Joseph's (the convent school she attended).  I had never seen most of these photos from the session that produced the well-known photo of her with Sarah (her dalmatian):
Enjoy!  (all photos = my scans)
