Brass City Tattoo...

On Saturday August 8th, Brass City Tattoo had their "Welcome Home" Party. They were re-opening after about a year of being closed due to the hectic tour schedule of shop owner F.Sean Martin. Clients, artists, friends and family were there to enjoy food, drinks and good times. Here are some photos from the party...

Inside the PI (Volume 1)...

The Dirty Room. Where all the drill pressing, metal grinding, tumbling, and pop riveting goes down. I didn't pick the color, but I did put it on the walls myself. Here are some shots of Alex and Joe from Pulse's production dept.

Dave Fox Skull...

Another skull tattoo from my collection...
WAY back in May of 2004 Dave Fox gave me this small skull filler piece on the convention floor in Philadelphia at the Annual Philidelphia Tattoo Arts Festival. The photo of this tattoo does not do it justice, but I'm too lazy to take a new one. I love this little tattoo and I love old pictures...

Venus In Furs

Marianne sitting on a fur throw talking about the wonders of LSD on national TV:
In Heathrow with Anita and Brian:
With Mick at Stonehenge wearing fur scarf. Photo by Michael Cooper:
Marianne's great-great uncle was none other than Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, the author of famed erotic novel, Venus In Furs. Personally, I love wearing fur, although I know it's a hot-button issue, and I understand why. I love animals too, don't get me wrong, but there's something so luxurious about a fur coat. I thought I'd put up some photos of Marianne wrapping her sumptuous physique in such. Photos mostly from my scans, plus Yahoo groups and Google images.

Coming colors in the air, everywhere...

These images are all scanned from an old issue of Les Copains magazine which I received in the mail recently. I believe the issue is from '65 or '66. Look at how gorgeous these photos are! I especially love the first one of her in fur. She comes in colors indeed! In the fourth picture down, where Marianne is clad in a sweater and trousers, she actually looks like she has hips and thighs (I mean that in a good way of course). Really a testimony to how anorexic and strung out she would become later in the decade (she suffered from anorexia for years on her own admission). I've been trying to find old magazines that feature incredible photospreads like this, but they're hard to come by. I've spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on Stones books and hard-to-find or rare articles, mags, etc. Some are still arriving in the mail, so I hope to get together a decent collection. I haven't yet invested in a top-quality scanner, so I've been using the one at my office (one of those printer/fax/scanner all-in-one devices). If anyone has any recommendations of a good one to purchase, I'd really appreciate it! Click on images for slightly larger copies. If for some reason, you're obsessed with Mari just like I am and want the original sized (huge) photos, just ask!

ROCKS

I'll have to save a big Aerosmith post for some time soon, but look at all these wonderful photos of Tyler & Perry. Joe of course was the epitome of rock n' roll cool with his leathers and jeans, and Steven was THE rock sex symbol of '76. Just look at those catsuits! I especially love the first picture, an advertisement for their new album Rocks.

(All photos scanned by me from Creem and Circus magazines, 1976)
