Ouch!

Sean was making breakfast yesterday morning, and I was tending our bees. He snapped this photo from the kitchen window right before I got a bee in my bonnet! Literally. So, I angered the bees again, and one very determined lady got inside my veil and stung me right in the back of the head! OUCH. I mean, at the time of the sting, it wasn't so bad, but Sean had to give me some first aid. While I sat with my head between my knees, my husband scraped a stinger out of the back of my head, just like we learned in bee school first aid. He got it all out in one piece, but I still had a swollen egg on my head all day and night. I slept on an ice pack and this morning it was much better already. Thanks to Sean for handling business AND not ripping out any of my hair! XOXO.

The good news is, everything is going great in the hive, Elizabeth Woodville is a highly productive queen, and I'm crossing my fingers for a honey harvest in our first year. And, yes, I've ordered some new protective clothing.
