Having a wonderful time
I'm still in holiday mode, I expect I shall be all week. The Actor and I had a lovely day on Christmas Eve just relaxing, watching Christmas films - my favourite one was The Bishop's Wife which I thoroughly recommend and eating. I cooked honey roast gammon with parsley sauce, roast potatoes and lots of vegetables. Very English. We opened our presents at midnight over some M&S pink Prosecco,

I'm ready for Christmas
I'm finally ready and absolutely everything is done. I'm so happy all the running around is over. I did most of my present shopping online which made it pretty painless, apart from on the bank balance!
All my presents have turned up on time. The final few arrived this afternoon along with a couple more bits I'd bought myself which I'd forgotten about. I'm delighted with everything. I am

My surprise
Taken from the corner of my street. All I want to do is stay in at at the moment
Here's a picture taken out of my back door when the snow first started falling heavily on Saturday lunchtime. It's five inches deep now and apparently more on the way.
All I wanted to do was stay in the warm but The Actor was taking me out on a "surprise" date and I had to be ready at six o'clock. Hideously

Kate Bush Christmas special
Here's a little alternative Christmas song from Kate Bush from Christmas 1979. I saw this on my friend Richard Mortimer's Facebook saying "I want what she's had."
We had six inches of snow in London today. I love it of course and everything looks very picture postcard. My entire garden is buried under a thick blanket of snow.
I have to go out early tonight as The Actor is taking me

Where I finally get a Christmas tree and some Christmas spirit
My 6'8" Nordman fir tree. I wish I could have a tree like this with roots. They're such beautiful trees I get very sad every time they have to come down. At least Hackney council recycles them.
The lovely John (who has the pleasure of driving me around day and night... and the patience of a saint) and I took my laptop to the computer hospital today. They called an hour later to say that I

In the mood for Christmas?
Deanna Durbin dressed as a Christmas tree
For someone as Christmas mad as I am, I'm just not feeling it this year. Normally from the first of December onwards I can think of nothing else. I've tried to get into it but it's not worked yet. I've watched a couple of films, admittedly they were straight to TV movies and they really weren't great.
I've done all my shopping on Ebay and online. I

Dior's fabulous new Christmas colours
Dior brings out something gorgeous and covetable for Christmas every year. I've bought so many of the special edition Christmas pieces over the years, Dior keyrings full of lip balms, beautiful compacts, crystal rings that contain lipsticks - all sorts of things, the design is always fabulous and they make great little presents.
For Christmas 2010 the Dior look is all about gold and black.

The English weather
Photography by Camilla AkransEdita Vilkeviciute
This week in London it has rained relentlessly. Either constant drizzle or absolutely chucking it down. It sounded like someone was running a bath outside my window for most of yesterday.
I know the picture above is a spring picture, I just think it's really beautiful. Now I'll have to accept that all my hopes of a late Indian summer have gone.
