My amazing new local - A Little Of What You Fancy

I have eaten in every establishment Elaine Chalmers has ever cooked in.  Ten years ago when she ran the restaurant below Smallfish Records on Old Street I would go in for my breakfast, back for my lunch and often pick up something for my dinner, it was easy to eat healthily as the salads were inspired, interesting and so delicious.  Elaine's is a genius with food.

I was about to run to the shops to get a load of sweets for the trick or treaters when The Actor informed me we are going out for a very late Sunday lunch.  Last year we had so many kids knocking all evening.  I wasn't at all prepared so I kept giving them a pound coin each.  It was getting rather expensive in the end.  I think sweets is better than giving them money for fags or whatever.

JINDABAAD!!!! Ain't about rebellion, frustrations, creative disillusions or democracy. The difference that bias the good and the bad declares the sound. Art has nothing to do with it, JINDABAAD!!! is art.



JINDABAAD!!! is a kathmandu based ART-Rock group as they like to call it.Discovering what they cant do and wont be allowed to do has resulted in influencing the sound of the band lately. Pop ,rock n roll, punk, futuristic heart thumping club, jazz, progressive,psychedelic,imaginative or non imaginative , everybody feeds on that as long as it can be simplified to the listening ear and to the mind. The band believes in everything .Simple, hard,raging to cold.The band believes in all that jazz and still fantasizes about the low tuned 8-stringed teethwreenching Hi-gain dream.Talking about an industry standard where music has always been used, rather than listened to, Jindabaad is cohesive towards the Independent Scene in NEPAL. Jindabaad are writing their own music as well as producing their own sound spectrum.

I'm probably too old for these!

I'm sure these lace bunny ears are not aimed at my age group but I don't care!  I've never minded looking silly in the past.
I saw them in a magazine as a suggestion to wear for Halloween.  At a mere £12.50 from Top Shop and being a fan of silly head gear I immediately ordered a pair.

They were really long and stuck straight up so Mrs Jones fiddled around with them and they are much better

Mrs Jones and I watched Oil City Confidential the other night and absolutely loved it.  I'd caught a little bit of the film when it was shown on BBC4 and knew it was right up my street.
I've seen director Julien Temple's films on the Sex Pistols - The Filth and The Fury, Joe Strummer and Glastonbury.  I liked all of them a lot but this I think is his best.

Profil singkat :

Mbah Maridjan (nama asli: Mas Penewu Suraksohargo; lahir di Dukuh Kinahrejo, Desa Umbulharjo, Cangkringan, Sleman pada tahun 1927) adalah seorang juru kunci Gunung Merapi. Amanah sebagai juru kunci ini diperoleh dari Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX. Setiap Gunung Merapi akan meletus, warga setempat selalu menunggu komando dari beliau untuk mengungsi.


Ia mulai menjabat sebagai wakil juru kunci pada tahun 1970. Juru kunci pada saat itu adalah ayah Mbah Marijan. Jabatan sebagai juru kunci lalu ia sandang sejak tahun 1982, setelah ayahnya wafat.


Sejak kejadian Gunung Merapi mau meletus tahun 2006, Mbah Maridjan semakin terkenal. Karena faktor keberanian dan namanya yang dikenal oleh masyarakat luas tersebut, Mbah Maridjan ditunjuk untuk menjadi bintang iklan salah satu produk minuman energi.

Meninggal
Pada tanggal 26 Oktober 2010, terjadi letusan gunung merapi yang disertai awan panas setinggi 1,5
kilometer. Gulungan awan panas tersebut meluncur turun melewati kawasan tempat mbah marijan bermukim. Mbah Maridjan Ditemukan Meninggal Dunia dalam Posisi Sujud di Dapur rumahnya.

Paul si Gurita Meninggal

Paul Gurita yang meraih ketenaran berkat kemampuannya memprediksi hasil pertandingan sepakbola Piala Dunia Afrika Selatan, meninggal di akuarium laut Oberhausen di Jerman, Selasa (26/10). 

"Hati para manajemen dan staf di Oberhausen Sea Life Centre hancur setelah menemukan Paul dalam keadaan tidak bernyawa," ujar pengelola akuarium dalam sebuah pernyataannya seperti dikutip dari Nationalpost.com. 

"Kesuksesan Paul membuat sebuah fenomena besar. Kami sangat menyukainya dan merasa kehilangan," kata Manajer Sea Life, Stefan Porwoll. 

Tubuh Paul sekarang berada dalam lemari pendingin sementara. Pihak akuarium masih memutuskan cara terbaik menandai kematiannya. 

"Kita akan membuat sebuah tempat sederhana untuk mengenangnya," ujar Polwoll. 

Namun, penggemar Paul tidak perlu putus asa, karena sudah ada pengganti gurita lain yang akan diberi nama Paul seperti pendahulunya. 

Paul menjadi salah satu sosok yang paling mendapat sorotan di Piala Dunia 2010 setelah mampu menebak delapan pertandingan Piala Dunia dengan benar. 

Dua kali binatang berkaki delapan ini sukses menebak hasil laga Spanyol, yaitu di semifinal saat melawan Jerman dan di final melawan Belanda.

"Forgive Me Father (I Have Sinned)" comes off CRADLE OF FILTH's ninth studio album, "Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa", which is scheduled for release on November 1 through Peaceville Records on the band's own AbraCadaver imprint (November 9 in North America via Nuclear Blast Records).



"Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa" is, in the words of CRADLE's infamous frontman Dani Filth, "without doubt the fastest and most brutal album we've created to date. As an acquaintance of the band so aptly noted, this is like 'IRON MAIDEN on crack in a graveyard of angels!' This album is CRADLE at our most sinister and darkened fairytale," continues Dani. "A gothic horror themed slay-ride of fervour and perversion; yet amidst the orchestral melodrama and lush, cinematic production, there sits stalwart a ravening beast of furious riffing, flesh ripping vocals and monstrous, unstoppable percussion."

CRADLE OF FILTH — consisting of Dani Filth on vocals, Paul Allender and James McIlroy on guitar, David Pybus on bass, Martin Skaroupka on drums and Ashley Ellyllon on keyboards — recorded the follow-up to 2008's "Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder" at Monkey Puzzle studios near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. Dior brings out something gorgeous and covetable for Christmas every year.   I've bought so many of the special edition Christmas pieces over the years, Dior keyrings full of lip balms, beautiful compacts, crystal rings that contain lipsticks - all sorts of things, the design is always fabulous and they make great little presents.
For Christmas 2010 the Dior look is all about gold and black.
