A few quotes and other bits and bobs

"Whatever makes people happy they should just do it,cos time is a mere scratch and life is nothing"
Morrissey(b. 1959)
I've only switched my laptop on once this week.  I'm dying to catch up with all my favourite blogs but my concentration is lacking and I like to read and comment on things properly.  I've completely neglected blogging and trying to think of something short to post was hard

I love this cover

Photography by Mert Atlas and Marcus Piggott
I think the new Paris Vogue cover is beautiful!  Shot by the fabulous Mert and Marcus, Emmanuelle Alt has chosen brilliantly.  And of course, our Kate's still got it!
I hope it's hot again today.  I'm at home all morning then I'm going to interview Terry de Havilland and his lovely wife Liz in the afternoon.   Their studio is at the top of my road,

Dior Addict and some sunglasses

Photography by David Sims
I've always been a fan of Kate and I think she looks fabulous in the new Dior Addict lipstick ad.  It was directed by Jonas Akerlund the man behind the video for Telephone by Lady Gaga featuring Beyonce.  The track in the Dior ad, All You Need Is Now was exclusively remixed by Duran Duran.

Kate wears the shade Diorkiss 573 in the new campaign.  There are 44 shades of

In search of the perfect Turban

Photography by Edward SteichenGloria Swanson
I have a thing about turbans, not just turbans all sorts of hats and headdresses.  I've bought a few in my time but they've never been quite right.  Two rather horrid velour ones I bought last year are only good for wearing whilst taking off my make-up.  Turbans are great for making a dramatic statement and also covering up a bad hair day.  So, I'm

LOVE's new covers

Photography by Mert Atlas and Marcus Piggott
LOVE magazine's issue five - The Androgyny Issue is about to hit the shelves.  The first cover they released is Kate Moss kissing pre-op transgender model Lea T.  Editor-in-Chief Katie Grand describes Lea as "the issue's muse."
Katie talked about how she first met Lea last summer at Fashion Rocks "I was by the pool at the Copacabana Palace Hotel when

Is it possible to have it all?

I'm writing this blog from my bed.  I've always had a very healthy relationship with it.  I absolutely love my sleep and so does The Actor.

To accompany this post I'm using some pictures of people in some rather fabulous beds I've collected.  I've used a picture of someone reading the paper - I used to read tons of papers an magazines but I don't have time anymore.  I don't know how everyone

My favourite photographers - Paolo Roversi

Photography by Paolo RoversiNatalia Vodianova
I love the work of Italian photographer Paolo Roversi.  His darkly romantic, beautiful and ethereal portraits are some of my favourites ever.  I think his pictures are like works of art.
Since 1980 he has worked primarily on an 8x10 Deardoff and 8x10 Polaroid camera.  I love his use of light and dark and the timeless quality of his pictures.  He is

I was flicking through some of my old copies of Vogue this afternoon and was reminded of these images from December 2007, beautifully shot by Lachlan Bailey and styled by Kate Phelan.

Dressing for staying in

Photography by Mert Atlas and Marcus PiggottKate Moss
The Actor would love me to dress up like this picture of Kate Moss every night.  I'm quite happy to dress up at the drop of a hat but it's getting colder and I am still in hibernation mode this week.
Apparently we are due more snow on Saturday and even though I know it's not going to happen, I live in hope of getting snowed in.  Here's my

Gorgeous green

Hedy Lamarr looking fabulous in green
This post is dedicated to the lovely Alex who's favourite colour is green.  I'm always looking out for green things for her on Ebay.
I rarely wear anything green although I love it as a colour.  I love brightly coloured make-up and I wear an Urban Decay emerald green glittery eyeliner a lot.

I own one dark green dress which I wore last week.  It's quite

An evening on the sofa

The fabulous Hedy Lamarr
I am so boring now. People think I'm out at fabulous parties all the time.  I do occasionally go to a party but most of the time these days I'm in watching TV.  I'm such a TV addict.  I meant it when I said I'm like an old nana the other day!

Admittedly we were shooting a pop star today so I'm lucky that lots of fun things happen around me.  More of which will be

Loving leopard print?

Hedy Lamarr
Leopard print can look amazing and very exotic.  Unfortunately I have to be very careful with it or I can look a bit like Bet Lynch.  I can get away with light or darker shades but not the orange and black variety, I just look trashy.  I tend to use it for accents only now.  I think you have to have the right colouring to carry off leopard print successfully and I don't think it

Bella Freud - Record Doctor

I was looking for some pictures to go with my post on the fabulous Bella and Susie this evening and as usual I got a bit carried away!  Why post one picture when you can post twenty?!  I came across a couple of articles I really like, so I've reproduced them here.

There are a few things I didn't know.  I knew Bella was married to a writer called James Fox but I didn't know that he wrote White

Corinne Day RIP

Corinne Day(1965-2010)
I was very sad to hear that renowned photographer Corinne Day died early this morning.  Corinne was struck down with a brain tumour thirteen years ago.  After undergoing extensive treatment it seemed the operations were successful, but sadly the condition returned two years ago
Corinne's revolutionary photographs of fourteen year-old Kate Moss catapulted Kate to stardom.
